Behind the scenes
- The parallel that Tanya Adeola makes to the story may be more specifically referencing Disney's 1991 animated adaptation, where the Beast's castle is inhabited by sentient household objects, formelly castle staff who were cursed along with their master.
- Disney made a live-action remake of the animated film in 2017, where the ensemble cast included Dan Stevens as the titular beast, as well as Ian McKellen and Hattie Morahan.
- In the Titan comic story A New Beginning, the Thirteenth Doctor's teapot aboard the TARDIS is identical, in all but colour, to Mrs. Potts, a character in the animated film.
