Strax Saves the Day was a short skit written by Steven Moffat in 2020 as a new introduction to the 2013 50 Anniversary special The Day of the Doctor, and was written as a an opener to a watch-along due to the self-isolation situation as a result of the worldwide outbreak of the Coronavirus which was an idea first brought up by Doctor Who Magazine employee Emily Cook on Twitter.

Story notes
- The story has a similar style to the Strax Field Reports.
- This skit is the first time since Twice Upon a Time in 2017 that Steven Moffat has written anything for Doctor Who.
- The skit is also the first time since Deep Breath in 2014 that Dan Starkey and Neve McIntosh has appeared as Strax and Madame Vastra, although the first only appears as a plush toy and the latter is only heard.
- A gag is played around the Coronavirus panic hoarding of toilet paper.
