Battle of Wolf 359
In a parallel universe, the Battle of Wolf 359 was fought at Wolf 359 between the Starfleet of the United Federation of Planets and the Borg during the 24th century.
The Battle
Starfleet suffered heavy losses in the battle, with eleven thousand people being killed, and 39 of the 40 ships in the fleet that engaged the Borg being destroyed.
During the battle, Locutus came face to face with the Eleventh Doctor who, accompanied by Amy Pond and Rory Williams, had travelled back in the TARDIS to acquire the Borg Collective's executive routines for their future conflict with the Cybermen. However, due to the nature of the Collective, Locutus saw them as insignificant and so took no action before they promptly left. (COMIC: Assimilation²)
Aftermath
Following the battle, the Borg cube proceeded directly to Earth. Meanwhile, Riker devised a plan to turn the tables against the Borg, entailing the retrieval of the Captain from the Borg cube by Lieutenants Data and Worf. Back aboard the Enterprise, Picard was freed from the Borg Collective with Data's assistance. Picard in turn assisted in incapacitating the Borg cube, leading to its self-destruction. For Picard, the memory of what the Borg forced him to do at Wolf 359 would continue to torment him for the rest of his life.
Afterwards there was much pressure to rebuild the fleet. When told about it, the Eleventh Doctor recalled the Bad Wolf meme. The Doctor also noted the battle was a fixed point in time. (COMIC: Assimilation²)
