The frequency and intensity dials were a part of the Fourteenth Doctor's sonic screwdriver located below the resonator cage. This section of the screwdriver resembled parts of the Master's laser screwdriver. (PROSE: Super Sonic ^[+]Loading...{"page":"36-37","1":"Super Sonic (feature)"})

In 2023, after arriving in the Millson Wagner Steelworks while tracking a spaceship, he used the screwdriver to project a holographic screen to analyse data, beginning the process by adjusting the dials at the base of the screwdriver. Behind the scenes

• As revealed by props makers Michael van Kesteren and Barry Jones, the frequency and intensity dials portion of the sonic contained a ball detent ratchet — as Phil Sims wanted "knurled" detail on the sonic — so the dials, when turned, made a clicking noise.
