The National Lottery was a public lottery played in the United Kingdom. Its logo was a blue-coloured human hand giving the peace sign.

H.P. Wilson collected money from the employees of Henrik's, who bought shared lottery tickets in March, 2005. Months earlier the syndicate's numbers came up but H.P. Wilson had been stealing the cash rather than buying the tickets. The syndicate never found out. (PROSE: Rose [+]Loading...["Rose (novelisation)"]) When Rose Tyler came to deliver that week's money to Wilson, she was attacked by Autons and saved by the Ninth Doctor, who informed her that Wilson had been killed.
