The Wyrm (PROSE: Secret Histories framing sequence [+]Loading...["Secret Histories framing sequence (short story)"]) was a powerful primal entity from released from the centre of the Earth by the K-T extinction event. It ruled part of the surface of Earth in the devastation following the asteroid impact, using the Voice of the Wyrm to mutate Chicxulub into Wyrmcallers. Its mutative voice could also damage time itself.

The emergence of the Wyrm altered some of the physics around Earth, granting psychic abilities to the Earth Reptiles and creating the wild fields in the sky which allowed for the existence of floating islands.

The Wyrm rested in an active volcano known as the Crucible of the Ring in reference to it being the location of the Time Ring. Its physical form resembled a giant mouth which knew only crude hunger.

The Wyrm thus resembled (AUDIO: The Adolescence of Time [+]Loading...["The Adolescence of Time (audio story)"]) accounts of the primal, powerful Yssgaroth, who created the Yssgaroth Taint which could mutate individuals into monsters and damaged time itself.
