George Jeffreys (1645-1689) was Lord Chancellor of England from 1685 to 1688. In 1980, the Fourth Doctor mentioned Jeffreys as one of many great Cambridge alumni while punting with Romana II. (HOMEVID: Shada, The Five Doctors)
