- 1914 - Actor Olaf Pooley was born.
- 1923 - Actor George Pastell was born.
- 1938 - Actor David McKail was born.

- 1941 - Actor Michael Walker was born.
- 1956 - Actress Dione Inman was born.
- 1965 - "Invasion" was first broadcast on BBC1.
- 1971 - Episode one of The Claws of Axos was first broadcast on BBC1.
- 1972 - The cast of Doctor Who possibly filmed what might have been The Mutants in Studio E of Lime Grove Studios. While this is disputed, if they did use the studio, they did so solely on this day.[1] Some sources[2] claim that Studio E was also used the next day.
- 1975 - The novelisation of Robot was first published by Target Books. It was the first novelisation of a Fourth Doctor serial and the first novelisation to be published during the same television season in which the adapted serial was actually broadcast.
- 1976 - Part seven of TV Comic story Virus was first released in issue 1265. This appears to be one of the only issued of TV Comic that was not published with the broadcast of a episode of 'Who.
- 1986 - The novelisation of The Twin Dilemma was first published by Target Books.
- 1989 - Actor Harry Melling was born.
- 1997 - Actor Ronald Fraser died.
- 2007 - Catherine Tate, in a meeting with Julie Gardner, indicated interest in appearing in a full season of Doctor Who. Russell T Davies, still sketching out the introduction of a new companion called Penny for series 4, began retooling his ideas to fit the possible return of Donna Noble. (REF: The Writer's Tale)
- 2009 - The Sarah Jane Adventures mini-episode From Raxacoricofallapatorius With Love was first broadcast for Comic Relief's Red Nose Day. This was the first mini-episode to be based upon a spinoff of Doctor Who. David Tennant co-hosted the main BBC broadcast of Red Nose Day with Davina McCall, introducing the SJA mini-episode and taking part in a Doctor Who-themed round of the quiz show Mastermind.
- 2012 - GAME: Worlds in Time was first officially released by BBC Worldwide, although a preview had been available to the public since 20 December 2011.
- 2012 - The Face of Evil was released on Region 1 DVD.
- 2013 - Caroline Skinner stepped down as executive producer for Doctor Who. Faith Penhale replaced her.[3]
