In 1336, the Ninth Doctor, Rose Tyler and Jack Harkness visited Kyoto, Japan, in the midst of the Battle of Minatogawa between Japanese imperial forces and the Ashikaga. (COMIC: Return of the Volsci) Their adventure did not go as planned and the trio had to flee the time period, escaping in the TARDIS. However, they were soon abducted mid-flight by a transmat beamed from the Game Station, which was scouting out new contestants for various game shows. (TV: Bad Wolf)
