Alvar Chambers was a wealthy human in the 22nd century who owned the Earth's air and its chemical constituents.

He was 143 years old when the Ninth Doctor and Rose Tyler landed on the Martian cruise ship he had hired for his latest wedding. An entity had possessed him by that time. After the Doctor defeated it, Chambers died of old age. (COMIC: The Cruel Sea)
