Transhuman

Transhumanity was the stage of human evolution which came between humanity and posthumanity. (PROSE: Stranger Tales of the City)

At the time of Earth's destruction, there was a faction of elite transhumans who used biotechnology to alter their own biochemistry in order to survive unconscious for centuries and return to life as apex predators capable of destroying other humans and anything else that might get in their way. They did this in an effort to colonise Hereafter. They planned to force generations of their fellow humans, the Morphans, to slave away at making the world suitable for human life and then return to wipe out the workers when they were no longer needed. Their plans were disrupted by the Ice Warriors and the Eleventh Doctor. (PROSE: The Silent Stars Go By)

Marko Marz was a notable transhuman of the posthuman era. (PROSE: Subjective Interlock)

As an example of the City of the Saved's artistic diversity, The Book of the War mentioned that in the City 74th century transhumanists collaborated with Medieval painters. (PROSE: The Book of the War) A few of Inigo Faber's students at the University of the Seven Ages were 30th millennium transhumans. (PROSE: The Socratic Problem) Transhumans were welcome at The World Turned Upside Down. (PROSE: More Tales of the City linking material)
