In the 2010s, alien encounters and other supernatural events continued, which had been common since the previous decade. The Eleventh Doctor had both a faked death and funeral in Mount Snowdon (TV: Death of the Doctor) and another in Utah. (TV: The Impossible Astronaut, The Wedding of River Song) This was also the decade in which the Doctor's TARDIS exploded, wiping out history with its Time Field. (TV: Victory of the Daleks, Flesh and Stone, The Pandorica Opens, Cold Blood) Months after the event, all but two exceptions of humanity were removed from Earth by the Automatons for several hours. (TV: The Empty Planet) In the early part of this decade, Miracle Day happened, halting death in all humans, at least barring extreme measures. (TV: The New World, The Categories of Life) When River Song refused to kill The Doctor in Utah, every other time period in Earth's history blended with the early 10s. (TV: The Wedding of River Song) This was also the decade in which the Ninth Doctor discovered at least one Dalek survived the Last Great Time War some fifty years earlier. (TV: Dalek) The crowd in the 2012 Olympic Games were abducted but returned in a mater of minutes by the Tenth Doctor and Rose Tyler. (TV: Fear Her) Later in that year the Shakri attempt to wipe out humanity with their Cubes before they could spread across the universe. (TV: The Power of Three) In the following year The Doctor and Clara Oswald managed to defeat The Great Intelligence and free thousands of prisoners trapped inside the Internet. (TV: The Bells of Saint John)
