Hey all :) If you need help with anything, please ask, below. The page tends to fill up quickly, so I've got a lot of archives. I try not to archive discussions that are ongoing, but sometimes it unfortunately happens. Gimme a second shout if I've not answered your question!

This page is also available in Bulgarian, German, Spanish, French, Dutch, Hebrew and Russian.

If you've come here to request a simple, uncontroversial page move, please consider using {{speedy rename}} instead. This puts all rename requests into a neat little chart that all admin can see and work on.

Hello!

Hello! To answer your question, I'm French! And don't worry, I'm used to link all my pages on the french wiki to this one (I just don't always think about doing the same here). SteamMoose 15:58, March 14, 2014 (UTC)

Congrats for being a Wikia Staff. --POMfannumber1 17:47, March 14, 2014 (UTC).

Problems with Docpic

There have been a few concerns that the Docpic slideshow has wildly differing aspect ratios for each Doctor- images appear too small when they overlap and instead of hiding the previous image, they stack. I have no idea what is causing this because the slideshow is under lock and key, so the textile conundrums are a mystery. It might be something as simple as setting every image to a unified size, like 300x200.

Another request is for the inclusion of the War Doctor. This image could be suitable:

I'm letting you know about Docpic's problems directly because the talk sections for this template have dried up. --Thunderush 04:38, March 20, 2014 (UTC)

Help

Hello CzechOut. Sorry to bother you here with general wikia questions. I am an administrator over at RangerWiki (powerrangers.wikia.com), and Digifiend referred me to you. I have a question about Monobook coding that I do not know how to answer. I am one of the users who prefers to use Monobook instead of the Wikia skin. I recently started a new wiki which I affiliated with RangerWiki due to relations between the two wikis' contents. For some reason, infobox templates align left on my wiki, but I'd rather they align right like they do on RangerWiki. Some of the other affiliated wikis also have a problem with the infoboxes not looking right on Monobook. Digifiend and Dchallofjustice (another of our admins) both say it is a CSS issue. However, I cannot find the CSS code I need, and I am afraid of breaking something if I mistakenly edit the wrong file or the right file with the wrong code. Could you perhaps assist me?  Nbajammer  Talk  RW  KR  MH  Toku  Kikaider  UM  GZ  TokuFanon  BS  SH  FF  SO  20:33,3/27/2014  20:33, March 27, 2014 (UTC)

Main page

Shouldn't the main page be protected?

Rights

Sorry to bother you again, but I kinda need immediate help - I already contacted Wikia Support, but it said a 2-3 day wait. I just created a brand new wiki and while trying to grant rights to other admins it removed my bcrat rights instead. I am the only editor. Is there any way you can help sooner?  Nbajammer  Talk  RW  KR  MH  Toku  Kikaider  UM  GZ  TokuFanon  BS  SH  FF  SO  22:55,4/13/2014

I'm Back! With a hitch...

Hello. This may seem a little odd, but I'm this wiki's founder, Freethinker1of1. Obviously I haven't edited here in a few years. I tried to log in today to edit once again after ages, but I found out that I have forgotten the passwords to both the Freethinker1of1 account and its associated e-mail address, so I've made a second account with by secondary e-mail account, 'Freethinker2of2'. Since I'm the founder I was just wondering if this '2of2' account can have admin access so that I can continue editing here? thanks. --Freethinker2of2 18:24, April 14, 2014 (UTC)

Hi, I noticed that everybody got unblocked, including me. I was wondering, is this right, or am I going to get blocked right after I start editing again? Congratulations on wiki staff :) — FarewellEleven at Tardis   18:31, April 14, 2014 (UTC)

Yes, the unblocking was right, as CzechOut himself did it. See this forum to find out why. 176.248.102.23talk to me 18:52, April 14, 2014 (UTC)

What in the name of sanity?! There must be a mikstake!

Hello...I'm MrSiriusBlack, and my 1 month block seems to have been changed to infinite for impersonating our founder. I have no idea why this is as I assure you, swearing on my life, that I am not the impersonator "User:Freethinker2of2". An error has occured leading to my perma-banning, and I was wondering, CzechOut, if you or another admin could rectify this? I'm not saying that Freethinker2of2 is not an impersonator, I'm saying that Freethinker2of2 is not me. There has been a mistake causing me to be perma-banned, I can promise you that, so could my perma-ban be lifted please? By all means keep me blocked for the original month that I was blocked for, just not the permanent block I have got for the wrongly-accused impersonation of Freethinker1of1. In fact, I only found out of the existence of Freethinker1of1 when I got the perma-ban message, as I'm not bothered about finding out who wikis' founders are. So yes, could the perma-ban please be lifted? This message probably sounds weird, but yeah... - MrSiriusBlack, acting as anon user 90.201.27.209talk to me 11:05, April 15, 2014 (UTC)

Hello! I'm new to this wiki, but an old pro at Wikia itself. Anyway, I am a big OCD kinda person. I love this wiki ( I cannot even fathom how it became so...perfect!) but there is just one thing that I always freak out about. The current years (such as 2013) are written with no comma (for example, they are not written like this: 2,013). But the years with longer numbers (such as 5,000,000,000) are written with commas! There should be no difference, because they are both years. I suggest either removing the commas from the years that possess them, or adding commas to years that no don't (which would be an easier solution, I think).

I understand if no one would want to tackle such a tedious task, but it is just really on my nerves!

Oops! Sorry, I forgot to add a header and my signature. File:Owlsig.gif 21:49, April 27, 2014 (UTC)

OK...something is wrong with my signature. My username is User:OWL. There, now you know.

Italian Tardis Wiki

Hi! We are making Italian page of Tardis Wiki! We just have 94 pages! Can you add it as language in your main page? Thanks

This is the link for the Italian page :) thanks http://it.tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Home And this is my user page http://it.tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Utente:Gallifrey87

I'm not sure if you have already read the message I had sent yesterday on User talk:Gallifrey87, so I'm rewriting it here:
Thank you very much for the attention! We are very honored because of your wish of an Italian Doctor Who wiki! (Sorry for eventual mistakes with the language ;)) About the URL, if you would prefer it.doctorwho.wikia as main and visible URL and it.tardis.wikia as an alias, it's ok. We agree! However, I'm the Admin of the wiki, so if you need, you can post on my user talk. We're very excited! Let me know if it's ok ;) --Stormageddon4 17:32, May 14, 2014 (UTC)
Thank you very much for all the work you did, now our wikis are linked! Thanks also for the Italian flag in your main page! Now, let's work on the wiki...See you soon! --Stormageddon4 18:50, May 15, 2014 (UTC)

Re: Personal attacks

Well, I guess it's a matter of opinion, isn't it? Because to me, comments like "I do not want to see messages from you on my talk page again", "Explain to me how on earth you were chosen as a suitable admin", and "You're not very good at giving people warnings, are you?" violate the "Discuss the facts and how to express them, not the attributes of the other party" part of Tardis:No personal attacks. If these comments had been aimed at another user, I would have blocked OfficialBBC for a long time. As it was, I blocked him/her for removing comments from his talk page despite several warnings, not for the personal attacks. Shambala108 01:08, May 13, 2014 (UTC)

Masterpwn: Content Box Error

The content box, when loading, displays the little loading bars (|||| <--- the ones that get bigger and smaller again from left to right), which, unfortunately, I can't put a picture of. But right when you open a page with a content box, it takes a bit to be ready to use. However, a content box for me displays the bars and stays that way. It never let's me use it. It stays pale with the bars. From my iOS (using Safari), and I will not have the Ipad that I use to edit here for much longer. However, last time a checked (when I was writing the summary for The Price of Paradise), it did the same thing on my PC, and I use Firefox. I recently cleared my cache and such, but to no avail. This happens for any and every page with a content box. Masterpwn 12:15, May 13, 2014 (UTC)

I have taken a screenshot, but I don't know how to show it to you. Should I upload it or something? And by content box I mean (as an example, I'll use to one from my profile page):
   Contents [hide]
1 Masterpwn
2 Social Media
3 Favourite Episodes
  3.1 Series 1
  3.2 Series 2
  3.3 Series 3
  3.4 Series 4

Etc. When you first load a page, that table has loading symbols. These symbols being little bars. Masterpwn 14:16, May 13, 2014 (UTC)

Here's a picture of the problem, what I mean by it being stuck in the "loading" thing:

The TOC stays like that perpetually. Now, as for what I am running, I am currently using something before 7.1, and have avoided the most recent update as well, to 7.1.1 on my Ipad (I never updated to iOS 7 because it caused problems with multiple of my friend's Ipads including the loss of data), and use Safari as my browser. I am quite sure the problem began before the iOS 7 update was released though. A similar problem occurred on my PC as well, which is a dumb old thing (emphasis on old), and I use Firefox on that.

Masterpwn 01:15, May 14, 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for your assistance! I may try backing up all my data to my computer and then trying the update, but I won't be able to do so particularly soon. Again, I appreciate the help a lot! I have almost no knowledge about this tech stuff. Masterpwn 12:12, May 14, 2014 (UTC)

List of Cast and Crew by Age

Well, I have to say I am very disappointed in your response re Tardis:List of cast and crew by age. I understand that the page has become far too large which is why I suggested splitting it in two to make it more manageable. Deleting it altogether seems to be throwing out the baby with the bathwater in my opinion. With regards to the subject of people's ages, as far as I can tell you are the only user who has raised objections to having them displayed on this wiki. I have been adding them to people's pages (as well as the main list) for months and I haven't heard a single objection from you or anyone else here. I do it in order to keep the wiki as accurate, informative and up to date as possible. If there's a thread where it was decided not to display people's ages, please point me towards it. I think I should point out that I get the vast majority of birth dates from the IMDB and/or Wikipedia, which are third party sources, and NOT from the actors themselves. So delete the list if you want but I really wish you hadn't closed the discussion so quickly. It doesn't make for a very welcoming atmosphere, quite frankly. Slughorn42 13:52, May 23, 2014 (UTC)

Category cleanup request

Hi! Could you take a look at Category talk:Real world people encountered by the Doctor and see if the delete rationale is valid? And if so, could you take care of deleting the category and its subcategories, or let me know if you're too busy and I'll ask SOTO to do it. Thanks! Shambala108 03:10, June 26, 2014 (UTC)

My User Page

Hi Czech, I just went to edit my user page, but it says that it is protected. I looked at the protection log and it says per request of user at community.wikia.com. I don't remember requesting it to be protected while I was blocked, did somebody else request this?. Anyways, could you please un protect it, thankyou. --— OriginalAuthority at Tardis   22:22, June 28, 2014 (UTC)

Countdown Clock

Hi. I am from the SpongeBob wiki and I liked the countdown clock that was used for counting down to the 50th Anniversary and I was wondering if you know how to make it or know someone who does. I would like to use it or a similar one on the SpongeBob wiki. Rufus 19:57, July 1, 2014 (UTC) 120d

Notifying you that I'm using some of this Wiki's code for my own wiki

I know you're busy so I'll keep this brief. Basically I'm using various code, templates, ideas and other tricks from established wikis like this one.

Don't worry, a lot of the code that I'm using comes from the central wikia website, I am only notifying you that there are times when I will ask myself, "Okay, let's see how the Doctor Who Wiki does/deals with it"

Examples include: Changing font/colour of admins; Organising infoboxes; Format of various templates; Paragraph layouts for episodes, series, characters and real people;

It's been a while since we talked last. Just to remind you, I come from the Wiki in Portuguese. Since our last conversation, we get more people to help in our work, and we grow a lot (with a staggering 300 articles in a year [as they say: you can not rush perfection xD ]) and I would like to thank you for given us the opportunity of representing the "Doctor Who Wiki" in Portuguese.

Sort of changing the subject, I would like to know one thing from you. Have you ever tried to talk to the BBC about blocking videos for use on Wikia? Is not the "end of the world" but it's kind of annoying having to go to Youtube to watch the video. I was wondering if we could do something about it.

Anyway, forgive me for this WoT and the mistakes in English that will certainly appear. Luisdpaula 05:16, July 7, 2014 (UTC)

Luisdpaula 05:16, July 7, 2014 (UTC)
