The Perfumed Garden was an erotic text translated into English by Sir Richard Francis Burton. Like the Kama Sutra and Ananga-Ranga, The Perfumed Garden contained several passages about the conjuring of demons. After Burton's supposed death, his staunchly-Catholic wife burned a revised translation that was designed to highlight the text's ritual-erotic elements. (PROSE: The Book of the War)
