Jamie Colquhoun was in the British Army during the First World War.

He was born on 29 July 1896. He had a sister, Jeanie. Jamie signed up to fight in the war on his 18th birthday. While fighting on the battlefields, he was promoted to the rank of Corporal. In 1916, he was stationed in the Somme, where he met the Tenth Doctor and Gabby Gonzalez and fought the Weeping Angels. He became romantically entangled with Gabby, but they decided against pursuing a relationship.

He helped the Tenth Doctor defeat the Angels by detonating the explosives in the tunnels that the Weeping Angels were in, in an act of self-sacrifice, but the Tenth Doctor saved him by shielding him with the TARDIS.

In 2007, he was visited again by the Doctor and Gabby at a war memorial. By that time, he had two great-grandchildren, Gabriella and her brother. (COMIC: The Weeping Angels of Mons)

Behind the scenes

  • Jamie is likely named after Joe Colquhoun, the artist of the seminal comic series Charley's War, partially set in 1916.
  • The character of Jamie was rather unlucky at the proofreading stage. The description of the first issue of the comic story at the publisher's website misspelled his name as "Jamie Colqhoun", whereas the second issue's description for some reason called him "Jamie Hamilton". Fortunately, these errors did not make their way into the actual comic pages.
