Magnox was a planet that was home to a famed centre of knowledge.
History
During the Dark Times, Magnoxians built a society based around knowledge centred on the Chronicon - home of the Council of Minds. The Kotturuh came to Magnox and judged its people, awarding them a lifespan of 90 years.
Whilst on the run with Brian, the Tenth Doctor heard about Magnox and decided to travel there to ask the Minds if he’d done the right thing by wiping out the Kotturuh. Whilst he went to the Chronicon to seek an audience, Brian explored the city and was recruited into a plot to kill the Minds. Brian’s team reached the Minds during the Doctor’s audience but their confrontation was interrupted by the arrival of the Kotturuh, who had returned to ask the Minds how to defeat the Doctor and survive his sentence in them, threatening to destroy Magnox if they did not comply. Brian killed the Minds before the Kotturuh leader, Avkhan, arrived however the Doctor temporarily immobilised him and his ship in a data field, giving him time to send an evacuation order and return to his ship before the Kotturuh attacked. The Kotturuh reduced Magnox to ruins. A few hundred Magnoxians escaped and made their way to Islos.
30 years later the Eleventh Doctor visited Magnox and recovered a data drive from the ruins of the Chronicon. He gave it to Peschell. (AUDIO: The Minds of Magnox)
