Islington

Islington was an area in London by 20th century, although in the 16th century it was instead a part of the Parish of St Mary, with the outskirts of London a few miles down the road. (PROSE: The Nine-Day Queen)

The location of the borough of Islington on Mr Smith's map. (TV: Revenge of the Slitheen)

By the early 21st century, Islington shared its northern border with Haringey, its eastern border with Hackney, its southern border with the City of London and its western border with Camden. (TV: Revenge of the Slitheen)

History

Part of the Parish of St Mary's

The First Doctor was given a townhouse in Islington when he was released from his services as Lady Jane Grey's tutor. He and his companions, Barbara Wright and Ian Chesterton, stayed in Islington until they had found and defeated the Vrij. During this time, Islington was a collection of small houses around a village green. (PROSE: The Nine-Day Queen)

Part of London

By the 20th century, Islington was, according to Barbara, a "slightly disheveled working-class area" in London, consisting of rows of council houses and redbrick flats. (PROSE: The Nine-Day Queen)

The Third Doctor once owned a watch-mending shop, called Fixing Time, on Old Street in Islington. (PROSE: Amorality Tale)

Ruby Duvall was born in Islington. (PROSE: Iceberg)

Islington appeared on Mr Smith's map of London. (TV: Revenge of the Slitheen)
