The Peacock Angel was a symbol of worship among the Yezidi people.

The Cult of the Peacock Angel by R. W. H. Empson interpreted the Peacock Angel as a divine warleader rebelling against a stupid demiurge. Empson and Richard Carnac Temple interpreted the Peacock Angel in this story as an analogue for Satan.

Its many vibrant hues were parodied by the bleached White Peacock of the Order of the White Peacock. (PROSE: The Book of the War)
