When the energy crisis worsened in 2021, Damien Stephens formed the GlobeSphere Corporation and took over the business. He had vast solar panel fields built on the Moon, which were intended to channel energy directly to Earth. (AUDIO: Energy of the Daleks)

At this time, the Pan-US Corps had W stations in outer space, and, according to the Seventh Doctor, China "pretty much [ran] the Moon". Europe was also a major superpower in 2021, and sought to partake in the colonisation of the Solar System which was due to follow. The United Kingdom, however, lacked a space programme. The C-Programme, involving Cyber-conversion, was their solution to this. (AUDIO: The Harvest)

Around 2021, the United States of America was at war with China. (AUDIO: The Harvest)

On Dalek Day, which occurred before or during 2020, a Dalek vowed that its kind would return and attack Earth on the first of January, 2021. (AUDIO: Incoming Transmission) Incidentally, January would see the occurrence of the 2021 Dalek civil war. (TV: Revolution of the Daleks)

After their separation in the previous year, (TV: The Timeless Children) Yasmin Khan resumed her travels with the Thirteenth Doctor, following Ryan Sinclair and Graham O'Brien's decision to retire from the TARDIS team. (TV: Revolution of the Daleks) Yaz and the Doctor would go on to have various adventures as a duo before being officially joined by Dan Lewis following the Flux crisis. (TV: The Halloween Apocalypse, The Vanquishers)

The virus COVID-19, which was the cause of a pandemic the previous year, was still present in some form by as late as December, with posters warning the public to remember "Hands, Face, Space" to prevent its spreading, still being a common sight. (TV: The Vanquishers)

Dated events

January

Ten months after being returned to Earth in the "spare TARDIS", Yasmin Khan missed the passing of the New Year as she continued to wait for the Thirteenth Doctor. When the Doctor, joined by Captain Jack Harkness, returned to Earth, they became embroiled in the 2021 Dalek revolution. (TV: Revolution of the Daleks)

Ryan Sinclair was expecting his father Aaron to return from the oil rigs "a couple of weeks" after the New Year. (TV: Revolution of the Daleks)

In January, Nick broke up with Simona. (TV: Eve of the Daleks)

Relatively early in the year, food bank volunteer Dan Lewis was told his horoscope for the new year, telling him that the colour blue and the letter D would be important, and that his lucky number would be thirteen. (TV: Welcome to the TARDIS…)

On January 28, Iris Wildthyme and Panda visited Hong Kong. (PROSE: The Shape of Things)

September

In September, Steffi Ehrlich was born in Iserlohn, Germany. (TV: The Waters of Mars)

October

In October, the Seventh Doctor and Ace investigated mysterious goings-on at St Gart's Bankside Hospital in London and discovered a Cyberman threat. An emergency room nurse, Thomas Hector "Hex" Schofield, celebrated his twenty-third birthday on 12 October in the course of assisting the duo. He then joined them aboard the TARDIS. (AUDIO: The Harvest)

On 31 October, Dan Lewis was captured by Karvanista to save him from the Flux. He was subsequently saved by the Thirteenth Doctor and Yasmin Khan. (TV: The Halloween Apocalypse) The same day, the Three Minute Eclipse took place, caused by Lupari ships. Sontarans managed to attack Earth fractions before Lupari formed their shield. (TV: War of the Sontarans)

November

Dan Lewis returned to Liverpool on the 2 November at 20:10. He sneaked into a Sontaran flagship, based in Liverpool Docks, from where he contacted the Thirteenth Doctor. Together with Karvanista, who saved Dan from the execution, they used the ship to ram the Sontaran fleet, creating a massive temporal reaction and erasing the Sontaran invasion from Earth history. (TV: War of the Sontarans)

December

This section's awfully stubby.

The events of TV: The Vanquishers still need to be added.

On 5 December, the Sontarans' invasions plans were defeated by the Thirteenth Doctor and her companions. (TV: The Vanquishers)

On New Year's Eve, the Thirteenth Doctor, Yaz, Dan, Sarah and Nick were trapped in a time loop with a squad of Dalek executioners. (TV: Eve of the Daleks)

Alternate timeline

The Ninth Doctor was aware of another timeline in which Harriet Jones' election as Prime Minister of Britain in 2006 led to "three consecutive terms" in office, which lasted all the way until this year. (TV: World War Three) Thanks to the actions of the Tenth Doctor, this never came to pass and she was removed from office after approximately only six months as Prime Minister having apparently lost a vote of no confidence. (TV: The Christmas Invasion)
