The Brook at Camden was the location of a gig booked by No Hot Ashes on 5 March 2005, where they were to perform before Three Brothers from Dulwich. The band was paid £100 to play for 30 minutes.
Seeing the gig as an opportunity to "relaunch the brand" and disliking their current name, the bandmembers brainstormed new names earlier that day in Mickey Smith's flat, with Sally Salter suggesting "Bad Wolf". However, when it came time to go to the gig, Mickey was nowhere to be found, so Sally and fellow bandmembers Patrice Okereke and Mook Jayasundera got Big Bone Bill to stand in on the bass guitar.
The gig did not go well, with Bad Wolf facing an unenthusiastic audience. (PROSE: Rose [+]Loading...["Rose (novelisation)"])
