Story notes

The dark green Raxacoricofallapatorian.
  • After portraying the Nightmare Man, Julian Bleach became one of the few actors to have appeared in Doctor Who, Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures.
  • The Raxacoricofallapatorian is slightly physically different than previously-seen members of the Slitheen family. Its skin colour is a darker green which also covers its stomach, and it also has green fingernails at one point. In the closing credits, however, the Raxacoricofallapatorian is referred to as a Slitheen. It was also referred to as this on the official Sarah Jane website. [1]

  • The Nightmare Man says "Children of Earth", which was the title of the third series of Torchwood.

Rumours

  • K9 and Luke will leave in this story. This was proven true.
  • A Raxacorciofallapatorian will make a cameo in this story as it was shown exploding on the team in a trailer and in a shot released for this episode the team are seen covered in goo in the exact same location as in the trailer. This was proven true.

Production errors

If you'd like to talk about narrative problems with this story — like plot holes and things that seem to contradict other stories — please go to this episode's discontinuity discussion.
  • The Slitheen's fingernails change from being brown to green.
    • Luke has an unclompleted Rubik's cube on his desk. Surely somebody of Luke's intelligence wouldbe able to complete this easily?
