Behind the scenes

In the real world, the Geordie accent is usually specifically associated with the city of Newcastle and the surrounding Tyneside area. Many areas in the North East are considered to have their own local accents distinct from Geordie, such as Mackem in Sunderland and Pitmatic in Northumberland and County Durham. These accents have not yet been referenced in DWU media, nor has the Geordie accent's link with Newcastle.
