Introducing Poppy Munday was a short prelude to Vince Cosmos: Glam Rock Detective that Paul Magrs wrote and released on his blog on 1 February 2013.

Poppy Munday says farewell to her parents in South Shields, as she is heading down to London to share a flat. On the journey, she threw up just once, inadvertently covering some of her belongings. The coach she is in stops at a transport services, and she sobs in the toilet.
As she leaves the services, she stops by the shop where she buys a bag of sweets and, without hesitation, a copy of The Vincent Cosmos Holiday Special. Back on the coach, Poppy is engrossed in the magazine, and she daydreams about Vince Cosmos.

- Poppy thinks that the drive from the South Shields to London must be the same distance to Australia (probably).
- Poppy's mam works in Woolworths.
- Poppy's mam packed a quarter pound of pick-n-mix in Poppy's packed lunch.
- Poppy threw up on her copy of Jackie, Valley of the Dolls, and her partially knitted flame-red scarf.
- Poppy envisions being involved with The Smoke.
- Poppy buys a big bag of Opal Fruits.
- Poppy, in the past, had even purchased Vince Cosmos toothpaste.
- Vince Cosmos sang about coming from Venus.
- Vince recently performed at the Astoria.
- Poppy imagines that she's a jukebox devoted to Vince.
