Poppy Munday was Vince Cosmos's personal assistant, starting in 1972. She helped him fight the Martians infiltrating humanity. After saying goodbye to her mam and father in South Shields, Poppy took a coach down to London to share a flat with her cousin Trish, and Poppy envisaged being involved with The Smoke. On the journey there, she got the coach to stop a transport services after she threw up, and after she cried in the toilet, she bought Opal Fruits and a copy of The Vincent Cosmos Holiday Special. On the rest of the journey to London, Poppy daydreamed about Vince. (PROSE: Introducing Poppy Munday!)

On May Day 1972, Poppy and Vince attended a party in Hobbe's End hosted by Iris Wildthyme and MIAOW. (PROSE: From Wildthyme with Love)

Vince hired Poppy to be his personal assistant sometime prior to August 1972, a fact he recollected in an interview conducted by Timothy Bold on the Radio One series Listen to the Stars!. (PROSE: Timothy Bold Interviews Vince Cosmos)

Poppy consoled Vince after Martians attacked him during his concert at the Hammersmith Odeon in July 1973. (PROSE: Enter Wildthyme)

By 1979, Vince was no longer popular and Poppy had moved to New York, (PROSE: Hang onto Yourself) though by another account, she lived alone in a canal boat. She was also the only person who knew where Vince had gone after he left Earth. (PROSE: Biography)

The online release of Introducing Poppy Munday! was illustrated with a preexisting black-and-white picture of Lauren Kellegher, who voiced Poppy in Glam Rock Detective. If taken as a suggestion of Poppy's in-universe appearance, it constitutes the only such visual representation in the DWU.
