Lieutenant Josef Ninety, (COMIC: Looking Back [+]Loading...["Looking Back (comic story)"]) was a member of the World Space Patrol. He was primarily stationed at the Space City Control Tower with Commander Zero.

In January 2065, Ninety informed Zero of an incoming automatic space mayday coming from Area 4 of Sector 25. In response, Zero told him "don't just stand there... do something about it" before going on to elaborate that Ninety should alert Fireball XL5 and get Steve Zodiac to investigate. A quiz set by Agent 21 included a question asking who Commander Zero's assistant was, with the answer being "Lt. 90". (PROSE: Quick Quiz [+]Loading...["Quick Quiz (feature)"])
Following the destruction of Fireball XL2, containing Captain Scarlet, by Captain Black, Lieutenant Ninety informed Zero that they were receiving a high priority security call from Spectrum, with Zero telling him to put it through. He was present as Colonel White asked for news on their rescue mission, informing them that Scarlet had proven to be virtually indestructible. When the Mysterons were believed to be defeated and Spectrum was disbanded, now Major Ninety informed Commander Zero that Captain Scarlet and Captain Blue were reporting for duty with the World Space Patrol. Ninety originated from the television series Fireball XL5 where he was voiced by David Graham.
