According to the memories of Emmeline Neuberger, a maid worked at the hotel at Wiessee outside the German city of Munich during the 1930s.
On the night of 29/30 June 1934, the maid became one of the civilian casualties of the Night of the Long Knives when the Schutzstaffel unleashed captive werewolves into the hotel to eradicate the Sturmabteilung.
In the morning, Neuberger, one of the werewolves, took the torn and bloodied clothes off the maid's dead body after transforming back into a human. A member of the Schutztaffel mistook Neuberger for one of the hotel maids, allowing her to flee Germany and seek refuge with her family living in England. (PROSE: Wolfsbane)
