A Politburo was a ruling council for communist political parties.
The Soviet Communist Party had a Politburo. In 1951, it comprised of Joseph Stalin, Lavrentiy Beria, Nikita Khrushchev, Georgy Malenkov, Nikolai Bulganin, and Vyacheslav Molotov.
