Septimus Ballantyne was the station supervisor in the 24th century for Space Station Q4. Before that, he was a major-general in the Terran Defence Corps.
He was aged to death along with all other personnel on the station when the Garvond attacked it. The Seventh Doctor, Ace and Bernice Summerfield saw the bodies, but the Doctor was transported back in time a week before the attack. He was able to stop the Garvond and prevent its attack on the station, saving the lives of many of those who had originally died. (PROSE: The Dimension Riders)
