In 1910, Captain Robert Scott travelled from Cardiff to the Antarctic. He took two years to get there and died shortly after. A statue was erected in his honour. (TW: To the Last Man)

Though Scott's first name was not given by To the Last Man, the scene doesn't parse correctly unless it's assumed to be Captain Robert Scott, the famous real world Antarctic explorer.
