On 15 February, the following important behind-the-scenes events were known to have occurred:
- 1971 - Decimialisation occurs in the United Kingdom. Production paperwork naturally reflects this changeover, with budgets and other documents converting to new pence. Cover prices on Doctor Who related merchandise, such as TV Action and the Doctor Who annuals appeared radically different, even though the initial changeover kept the value of money stable.
