Hey, Joe: Thanks for all your help with the main page. Apparently, though, I can't change the contents of MediaWiki:Button1, etc., so I can't change the links there. Could you please change the links to Transmat:ButtonName for me? In other words, Button1 should be going to Transmat:Doctor Who, and the rest should be going to Transmat:Torchwood, Transmat:SJA, Transmat:K9, Transmat:Characters, Transmat:Technology, Transmat:Locations and Transmat:Species. Thanks :)

- VSTF members explained to be once that MediaWiki messages that contain the elements of an <a href=> setup are off-limits even to admin, who might use such "dangerous" HTML for evil. Thanks for changing them. :)
- Hey so how are we doing with the animated DW/50 part that's going to overlay these buttons until mouseover?

So we're waiting on advice now from Mira, but it looks like we're gonna miss target on delivery of that. Believe me, though, I'm so happy with the simplicity and elegance of the buttons as they are, I don't mind throwing up a static substitute that makes sense of those buttons for the short term. Only little tweak I'd ask of you is whether we can make them about 25% smaller and verticaly align them so that they form more of a grid. I suppose alignment I can take care of, but I'm not sure I can make them smaller because of the a href stuff.
- And while I'm on that subject, is there any way that I could be granted the power to change them on this wiki? It seems so trivial to come to you or another staff person to adjust the size of the buttons, or to install new ones. This isn't the end of this project, after all. There will be more and different buttons, new and expanded pages in the Transmat namespace. The topic of the DWU is simply too vast to let eight buttons serve indefinitely.

The dominant feedback i've gotten is that it's a nice size for people using touch screens. They also like the vertical offset of the individual columns. So I don't actually need something that's 25% smaller, or that's vertically aligned — yet. But when we add new buttons, I will need some way of a) creating new buttons without having to run to you and b) tweaking the size.
