Lothar Ragpole was a nightclub owner and old friend of the Seventh Doctor and Lilian Dillane. He wrote poetry. He noted that the Doctor had not brought such feisty companions, on seeing Ace and Hex since Tegan Jovanka. His club had been opened for twenty years. He was attacked by some malfunctioning robots.
