A cook was a profession where an individual prepared food to be eaten.

Shockeye of the Quawncing Grig was an Androgum cook aboard Space Station Camera. He had a yearning for human flesh, and tried several times to kill and eat Jamie McCrimmon and Peri Brown. (TV: The Two Doctors)
