Edith Thompson

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Edith Thompson was the scullery maid for the household of Edward Grove in 1906.

She later became the cook for Charlotte Pollard's family, at their manor house in Hampshire. (AUDIO: The Chimes of Midnight)

In 1926, she had a brief affair with the chauffeur. After seducing her in his Chrysler, the chauffeur pretended not even to remember anything had occurred between them, due to Edith's lower status. In all this time, Charley was, in Edith's estimation, the only person who was ever kind to her. (AUDIO: The Chimes of Midnight)

She was the only person who knew that Charley intended to stow away on the British airship R101, and helped her prepare for the adventure. (AUDIO: The Fall of the House of Pollard)

She committed suicide when she heard that Charley had died in the crash of the R101 on 5 October 1930, as Charley was the only person who cared about her. Edward Grove used this to his advantage when the Eighth Doctor and Charley landed on 24 December 1906. (AUDIO: The Chimes of Midnight)

Lady Louisa Pollard discovered her body after she committed suicide. Violet Warren succeeded Edith as the Pollards' cook. (AUDIO: The Fall of the House of Pollard)
