The Rising Night is a made-for-audio Tenth Doctor story, written by Scott Handcock and produced for BBC Audio, with a release scheduled for 2009.

Read by Michelle Ryan, the story is released under the same format as the BBC Books Tenth Doctor Adventures book series and their associated audio book adaptations, but was released exclusively to audio. It is the fourth of its kind following Pest Control, The Forever Trap and The Nemonite Invasion (several original audio stories of this nature have also been issued based upon Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures.

The story of a brand new adventure for the Doctor, as played by David Tennant in the hit BBC One series. The TARDIS arrives in an 18th Century village in the Yorkshire Moors, where livestock has been vanishing from the farmland and strange lights have been seen in the skies. Something is very wrong here, and he soon becomes involved in a nightmarish adventure, in which he is helped by a young local woman named Charity. Who is feeding on the blood of the locals, and where will the carnage stop...? This story has been written by Scott Handcock exclusively for BBC Audiobooks.
