August Mirakle or Augustus was a 19th century Parisian.

He was a hypnotist working for the Brotherhood of the Immanent Flesh. Eventually deciding that he wanted to extricate himself from the conflict between the Brotherhood and Montague, he tried to reveal to the authorities that Alfred Dreyfus had been framed for treason. He was not believed and officer Marcel threw him in jail, where Montague had him assassinated. (PROSE: The Death of Art)
