Betteredge Hall was a house in England in which Dr Gorley Herring was murdered. Miss Jane, an amateur detective, investigated the case but was herself murdered with poisoned tea. Iris Wildthyme, who had witnessed Miss Jane's murder, joined the man investigating the detective killings. (PROSE: The Sleuth Slayers)
