The Battle of the Game Station was a battle between humans and Daleks in the aftermath of the Last Great Time War. It took place on the Game Station. The Tenth Doctor described its outcome the "final act of the Time War". (TV: Utopia)
History
Origins
The Dalek Emperor survived the destruction of the Dalek Empire in the Last Great Time War and fell through time to the year 199,909. He influenced the Fourth Great and Bountiful Human Empire as a cover for his plans and used the Jagrafess and the Editor as puppets. He rebuilt the Dalek race from human cells taken by "disintegration beams" to create an army of nearly half a million Daleks. He built two hundred flying saucers for the imperial fleet at the edge of the solar system. (TV: The Long Game, Bad Wolf / The Parting of the Ways)
Conflict
Beginnings
In the year 200,100, when the Dalek plan was nearing completion, they were discovered by the Ninth Doctor. They took Rose Tyler and threatened to kill her unless the Doctor let Earth fall to the Daleks. He refused. (TV: Bad Wolf) He and Jack Harkness travelled in his TARDIS to the Emperor's flagship as the fleet advanced upon Earth. (TV: The Parting of the Ways)
The battle
Knowing the Dalek Emperor lived and the new army of Kaled mutants were half-humans who worshipped the Emperor, the Doctor, Rose and Jack returned to the Game Station. They protected the top five levels with a force field generated by the tribophysical waveform macro-kinetic extrapolator. Jack went to the lower levels to recruit humans to fight the oncoming army. Thanks to Rodrick, most of the people refused, believing the Daleks a myth.
The Doctor built a delta wave to fry the Daleks' brainstems and sent Rose back to 2006, while the recruited humans mounted a defence. Using barricades and highly concentrated fire, they shot bastic bullets at the invading Daleks. They blinded one before all humans but Jack were killed. They also attempted to use internal defences, including lasers, but the Daleks managed to disable them. The Anne Droid stopped three Daleks with its transmat beam before it too was destroyed. The Dalek fleet advanced upon Earth, bombing continents out of existence.
All the humans on the station were dead, including Jack. However, Rose returned from the 21st century as the near-omnipotent Bad Wolf, dividing the Daleks and their fleet into atoms, turning them to dust, and resurrecting Jack. (TV: The Parting of the Ways)
Aftermath
The Doctor absorbed the Time Vortex energy which had made Rose into the Bad Wolf, forcing him to regenerate into his tenth incarnation. (TV: The Parting of the Ways, Children in Need Special)
Though the Doctor was optimistic that mankind would be left to recover, after 191 years of repression by the Daleks, (TV: The Parting of the Ways) in the direct aftermath they dealt with radiation and starvation. Journalism started up again. (AUDIO: The Year After I Died)
Jack was left behind by the Doctor. He used the vortex manipulator in his Time Agent wrist strap to try to return to the 21st century to wait for the Doctor. The manipulator deposited him in 1869 and broke down, stranding him. In addition, his resurrection by Rose had left him immortal. (TV: Utopia)
