Rosa Parks boarded a bus in Montgomery, Alabama. However, the bus driver informed her that the front entrance was not for "coloureds" and instructed her to exit and enter the bus again from the back door. Parks articulated that she saw no need for her to do so when the black passengers at the back were standing in the stairwell. The driver then threatened to take her off the bus and grabbed Parks by the arm, with her ordering him to stop. After dropping her handbag, she briefly sat down in the "white" section of the bus before collecting her bag. Instructed to get out of the front door, Parks attempted to walk to the back entrance before the driver closed the door behind her and drove off. (TV: Rosa)
