Axos created a duplicate of Bill Filer and sent if to the Nuton Power Complex to kidnap the Third Doctor. However, the real Filer escaped and fought with the duplicate. During the fight, the duplicate was forced into the light accelerator and disintegrated. (TV: The Claws of Axos)
