A Letter from the Doctor was a short story printed in DWM 500, as a continuation of the A Letter from the Doctor series from the first issue of Doctor Who Magazine and the Doctor Who Storybook range. It was written by a fictionalised version of Peter Capaldi, like the previous A Letter from the Doctor was in DWM 464.

Plot

Peter Capaldi writes that he had been asked by Doctor Who Magazine to write a letter for the five-hundredth issue and possibly the one-thousandth or the one hundred-thousandth issue. It entertains him to see his character, the Doctor, being portrayed in a comic strip, which is in Peter's opinion has the best likeness than any other depic actors.

Peter writes about how Doctor Who Magazine has inspired fans to "write their own stories, draw their own pictures, and make their own music and films". Peter wishes the readers farewell, as he's got acting to do.
