Godfrey Porter's universe was a reality where the Doctor and his adventures existed as works of fiction, (PROSE: The Thief of Sherwood [+]Loading...["The Thief of Sherwood (short story)"]) similar to the various other meta-fiction universes encountered by the Doctor himself. Godfrey Porter was one of many writers to pen an episode of the Doctor Who TV series, namely The Outlaws, a story corresponding to the First Doctor, Ian Chesterton, Barbara Wright and Susan Foreman's encounter with Robin Hood, (PROSE: The Thief of Sherwood [+]Loading...["The Thief of Sherwood (short story)"]) which another account confirmed to have happened in the Doctor's own reality. - Godfrey Porter's universe, that of the frame story of The Thief of Sherwood, was explicitly confirmed in 2020 on Twitter by Jonathan Morris to be meant to be read as a separate universe from the Doctor's own, though one where the Doctor could theoretically travel.[1]
