The Fat was a parasite that fed on talent, with the host slowly deteriorating into a self-parody.
It was implanted by the surgical executive of Faction Hollywood. After death, the culture that had grown over the body was fed to the studio acolytes and the parasite transferred to a new host. The process was the price paid to keep Hollywood working.
Hosts of the Fat included Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, Orson Welles and Marlon Brando. Omaha Lee, star of the 1990s teen movie Cosmic Losers, was intended to be next. The death of another teen idol, Griffin Fox, was rumoured to have been suicide or a mercy killing by friends when it was learned he would very likely be made a host. (PROSE: The Book of the War)
