The Invisible Man

The Invisible Man was a novel by H. G. Wells.

When he met the Sixth Doctor, he used kontron crystals to alter time slightly, so that his image would lag behind his physical self by a few seconds. This gave the illusion of invisibility. (TV: Timelash)

Earlier in his personal timeline, however, the Third Doctor claimed to have already done experiments with Wells so that Wells could make himself invisible. (PROSE: The Ghosts of N-Space / AUDIO: The Ghosts of N-Space)

The Master met Griffin, the villainous invisible man himself, in the Land of Fiction. (COMIC: Character Assassin)

When Commander Kaagh used his perception camouflage matrix and became invisible Lucy Skinner told Clyde Langer about this experience. She said she could see nothing but knew it was there. Clyde asked if it was like The Invisible Man and Lucy said yes. (PROSE: The Last Sontaran)
