Gallifrey Original

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Due to the creation of many "clone-worlds" of Gallifrey, the Time Lords' Homeworld, during the War in Heaven and/or Last Great Time War, the fate of the "original Homeworld", termed "Gallifrey Original" in at least one account, became a subject of contention and speculation.

According to one account, at the end of the Last Great Time War, the Eighth Doctor used the Moment to destroy "Gallifrey Original". (PROSE: Doctor Who and the Time War)

The War King's Homeworld was believed to be "the original", (PROSE:The Book of the War) although War Queen Romana III's Gallifrey was located in Kasterborous, the original location of Gallifrey. (PROSE: The Ancestor Cell) There were rumours in "some quarters" that the "original Homeworld" had been moved and replaced with a cloneworld, (PROSE: Crimes Against History, The Book of the War) and that the President before the War, (PROSE: Crimes Against History) i.e. Romana, (PROSE: The Shadows of Avalon) had moved to a clone-world to better sell the deception of the Nine Homeworlds project, possibly being unaware herself that the Homeworld she occupied was no longer the original despite its location. (PROSE: Crimes Against History) According to yet another account, loas claimed to Mother and Father that the War Queen's Homeworld was not a mainline clone-world at all, but a temporal "sheath echo". (PROSE: The Story So Far...)

After the destruction of the "original Gallifrey", Homunculette trained at Gallifrey XII. (PROSE: Alien Bodies)

Behind the scenes

The first edition of Crimes Against History treated the War Queen's Homeworld as the original, while the second edition had her dropping out of the narrative to be replaced by the War King, with a suggestion that she had gone on to become the President of one of the Nine Gallifreys as part of a ruse to construe one of the Cloneworlds as the original. Although this rumour can be taken at face value, a possible interpretation is that these rumours were spread by the War King himself to spread the belief that the Homeworld under his control was secretly the original despite the blatant fact of the original President — Romana — still ostensibly ruling the original Gallifrey at the original coordinates.
