Chelmer was a manager at a drilling rig. She questioned the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa and Tegan Jovanka on why they were on the rig. She told them that they were experiencing a problem with nightmares. She allowed the Doctor and Nyssa to find a way inside the dream network to stop the Daleks. She noticed that something was wrong with Foster when she wasn't affected by Jez death. The Doctor asked her to look after Marcipor's body whilst he slept keeping the Daleks at bay. (AUDIO: Nightmare of the Daleks)
