Lay Down Your Arms was the second story in the audio anthology Hidden Depths, produced by Big Finish Productions. It was written by Lisa McMullin and featured Christopher Eccleston as the Ninth Doctor.
Publisher's summary
1864. Instead of relaxing at the Bad Homburg Spa, its visitors are fighting. And Bertha Kinzky, housekeeper to Alfred Nobel, is appalled. Perhaps the mysterious Herr Schmidt can help?
Soon, Bertha is contending with aliens, as well as her mother’s matchmaking, as she and the Doctor try to keep the peace.

- No Go Flo Tro Wo was an opera piece written by the Judoon, and described by the Doctor as "a bit staccato". Every time a piece of Judoon music is created, the Judoon arrest themselves for "intergalactic crimes against music".
Cultural references from the real world
- Sophie admonishes Bertha for turning down "Two princes. Princes who adore you." This line is similar to the title and lyrics of the song Two Princes by The Spin Doctors.
- Trinity uses the phrase "Let slip the dogs of war," which is taken from the William Shakespeare play Mark Anthony.
