The Time Lord Fairy Tales short story Helana and the Beast is based on the story.
The parallel that Tanya Adeola makes to the story may be more specifically referencing Disney's 1991 animated adaptation, where the Beast's castle is inhabited by sentient household objects, formelly castle staff who were cursed along with their master.
In the Titan comic story A New Beginning, the Thirteenth Doctor's teapot aboard the TARDIS is identical, in all but colour, to Mrs. Potts, a character in the animated film.

Disney's aforementioned 1991 animated film version was later adapted into a musical stage version. Derek Griffiths, Rebecca Thornhill, and Richard Gauntlett were among the show's original West End cast, when it debuted there in 1997.

Outside of Disney, Bavenfield Films made their own animated adaptation in 1992, which starred Jason Connery, Susan Sheridan, and Kate O'Mara.^[1]
