Thanks for your recent edits! I'm Jimbo, your robot wiki representative! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is actually a great time to have joined, because we're now fully independent, and working on a host of new features!

We've got a couple of important quirks for a fan written wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.

British English, please

We generally use British English 'round these parts, so if you use another form of English, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.

Spoilers aren't cool

We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.

Other useful stuff

Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:

If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! —  you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:

Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:

Thanks for becoming a member of the TARDIS crew! If you have any questions, see the Help pages, add a question to one of the Forums or ask an admin.

are the time lords returning? in the end of time christmas special

i think that the time lords are returning because in the children in need special for doctor who the elder odd says that it is returning he is returning which we know is the master and they are returning which it could mean the time lords and other information i know is that in the cast list (not there real names) THE GOVERNER,THE NARRATOR,THE WOMAN,TEENAGER, THE SECOND,THE PARTIASN,THE VISONARY and my other speculation is that it says that timmothy dalton will be starring as the TIME LORD COUNCIL LEADER it looks like the time lords will come from the immortality gate and arrest the master and sentence him

Extra blank spaces

I'm curious... why do you feel a need to add multiple blank spaces between templates on each article you edit? -- sulfur 18:47, January 2, 2010 (UTC)

Sorry but i dont know how to do it--The mysterious 18:49, January 2, 2010 (UTC)

Are you using the default "what you see is what you get" wikia editor? If so, I would strongly recommend going to the "more" option in the upper right, choosing preferences, scroll down to "editing preferences", and turn off the "rich text editing". It does a lot of really poor formatting things to articles and makes a multitude of changes that should not be made. -- sulfur 18:54, January 2, 2010 (UTC) thanks--The mysterious 18:58, January 2, 2010 (UTC)

Narrator

Dont add Narrator to the End of Tine Quote please. Thanks--Skittles the hog 19:00, January 2, 2010 (UTC)

ok

Deleted articles

I assume you were referring to "The Masters Lightning Bolts"?

From a purely grammatical standpoint the article is incorrect. As written it says The Masters (Masters as in plural meaning more than one Master) Lightning Bolts. The article's body of text displayed similar issues with grammar and punctuation, it also did not follow the Tardis:Manual of Style with regards to in-universe style or follow conventional formatting. Also, nothing linked to the article.

The information with regards to the energy bold the Master was able to cast would be better covered in the The Master (Harold Saxon) article.

Also on a side not I have also reverted your upload to File:Master.jpg. The 'Upload a new version of this file' feature should only be used to upload a new version of the same image, not a totally different image. Thanks. --Tangerineduel 06:47, April 7, 2010 (UTC)

Unconfirmed Titles

Hi, on your edit to the Amy's Choice page, on the infobox, you put an unconfirmed title. None of us are sure that title has been confirmed yet. You might be but wait till the episodes are confirmed then put it in. Also don't put in both parts on one page. I'm only just telling you to remember not to do it again. Trikster87, 10:40, 8th April 2010,

De-linking titles and Videos

Hi, please don't de-link titles as you did on a recent edit to The Master article (you specifically removed the [[ for The End of Time link).

Also, please do not add videos that are in violation of our video policy (in short; any videos uploaded to YouTube that are not uploaded by the copyright holder are in violation of our video policy). --Tangerineduel 14:04, April 8, 2010 (UTC)

Linking

When linking to pages within this wiki you do not need to use the web address, for instance to link to 2009 you simply need to type [[2009]] which gives you 2009. --Tangerineduel 13:51, April 13, 2010 (UTC)

Cybermen are returning in Episode 12

Here's the proof:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8572786.stm

It says that the Cybermen are returning in episode 12, it says it right there!

But come on, think about it, what other episodes will be Cybermen be in?

Episode 11 is the James Corden episode where The Doctor is he's lodger, the Cybermen won't be in that episode.

The Cyberman Quote

I remove the Cyberman quote as it the wrong universe. It the Cyberman (Pete's World) that say 'Delete'. Correct me if i'm wrong, but do the Cybermen from this unverse say 'Delete'? Mini-mitch, 14:35, April 16, 2010 (UTC)

YesThe mysterious 14:12, April 16, 2010 (UTC)

The Cybermen from this universe do NOT say delete. See all classic episodes. --The Brig 15:54, May 19, 2010 (UTC)

Quotes

The 'new manual of style' is just a play of word. There as been a decision about how to use the quotes, meaning we have decided to put no more quotes at the top of 'television stores'. pleas see here, under revisiting this topic for the detail. sorry for the confusion. Mini-mitch 19:59, April 16, 2010 (UTC)

I just going through all the television stories and deleting the quotes at the top of the page, like I've done. if you could go through either the classic series, Torchwood or the Sarah Jane Adventure, I would appreciate the help. I've already done the New Series, cheers Mini-mitch, 201:12, April 16, 2010 (UTC)

Images

Images added to in-universe pages should be of an in-universe nature (screenshots for articles about TV based stuff etc) without any additional overlays or whatever. --Tangerineduel 17:39, May 1, 2010 (UTC)

Publicity stills

Please stop adding publicity stills to in universe articles such as character pages. Consult this thread for proper images to be used on character pages. DoctorForHire 23:23, May 2, 2010 (UTC)

Help: Images

How you've done it on the Ninth Doctor page is correct.

In the image= field on any given page with an infobox add [[File:Image name.jpg|250px]].

If this doesn't answer your questions can you point me towards where you're having problems and I'll try to help. --Tangerineduel 14:57, May 3, 2010 (UTC)

A red link be it an image or a link indicates the file (or page) doesn't exist such as 2010 Doctor Who Christmas special doesn't exist. In the case of a file it's either a mis-typed file name or something that's not been uploaded. You can click the redlinked file which should take you straight to the upload page and allow you to upload the file (the file will upload to the name of the file that is redlinked. Also please remember to select the relevant licence when uploading images from the drop down menu licence selector. --Tangerineduel 16:03, May 3, 2010 (UTC)

Past tense

All in-universe articles on this wiki, including 'The Doctor' article are written in past tense (See Manual of Style - Usage and spelling). The Doctor article is an article about the the Doctor as a whole (First Doctor to Eleventh), the 907 age can apply to the Eleventh Doctor. --Tangerineduel 16:16, May 7, 2010 (UTC)

The Pandorica Opens synopsis

I noticed that you and User:Olilorry have spent the last 2 hours fighting over two different versions of the synopsis for this article. Please go to Talk:The Pandorica Opens and try to argue your case there and get consensus for what the article should say. It'll be a lot less frustrating for both of you. --Falcotron 08:49, May 29, 2010 (UTC)

I understand your point, but please discuss it on the talk page I linked to above. It's not my decision to make; I'm just some random guy. The point is to get everyone to agree.
The biggest worry I have about both your synopsis and the other one is that both appear to be copied word-for-word from sources that aren't cited. (Also, the other guy's has some weird formatting and punctuation problems, and really does read like it was compressed to fit into a tiny box in Radio Times...) --Falcotron 08:58, May 29, 2010 (UTC)

Heather and wolfie vistited by doctor

Why did you change the timeline that he visited heather and wolfie in the end of time because in the comic lucky heather for doctor who adventures he visited them - Lewody1 14:918 29.5.10

Rory

Please do not remove him from the cast list for the finale. Yes, he died, but he is appearing. Just look at that link you yourself deleted. --Golden Monkey 20:38, May 29, 2010 (UTC)

RE Tenth Doctor

The proof is buy Doctor Who Adventures - Lewody1 10:05 30.5.2010

File:Human.jpg

Hi, you changed this image to something totally unrelated to the files it is linked to. It also had images of nudity on which are not welcomed on a wiki like this. Please do not do it again. ☆The Solar Dragon (Talk - Contribs.)☆ 12:25, May 31, 2010 (UTC)

It is a perfectly good image actually. Still, that is no reason to upload an image over a totally unrelated image. You replaced an image of the Human-Daleks with an image of a naked man and woman from an in-universe point of view. This should not happen again. You have already been warned about replacing image with unrelated images by Tangerineduel. Please do not do it again. ☆The Solar Dragon (Talk - Contribs.)☆ 12:30, May 31, 2010 (UTC)
Another thing you could do is ask on the talk page of the article for a new image and explain why instead of uploading another, even worse, image to replace it. I'm sure we could find a good image to replace it. ☆The Solar Dragon (Talk - Contribs.)☆ 12:40, May 31, 2010 (UTC)

Changing Images

Look now, just stop uploading new versions of images that are nothing to do with the previous images. You just did it with File:Amy.jpg. It is unrelated to that image and if you want to use that name, call it something else because you can't. User:Solar Dragon/Signature 17:05, May 31, 2010 (UTC)

I'm just not sure how you're accidentally uploading these images.
If you go to upload an image (via the 'upload image' link) with the same name as one that already exists you get this warning "A file with this name exists already, please check file name if you are not sure if you want to change it. Once uploaded, this image may take up to 2 minutes to be visible.".
It's only if you push ahead and ignore the warning that you upload a different version of the file, so for the future if you get the above warning don't go ahead with the file upload, change the file name that you're uploading instead. --Tangerineduel 17:48, May 31, 2010 (UTC)

Images on The Pandorica Opens

You uploaded a bunch of images for The Pandorica Opens with absolutely no information about their source.

You can't do that. There's a reason the "upload image" page makes you choose the type of licensing, and then gives you a box explaining what additional information needs to be included. Without this information, you could be opening the entire site, or maybe all of Wikia, up to charges to copyright violation.

Also, you've added them in weird places, like in the middle of paragraphs. While the layout usually works OK when you do this, it's not a good idea--some unrelated change farther up the page could suddenly screw up your image. (If you're editing using the fancy Rich Text Editor, you might want to switch to the wikicode editor, at least when you have to do anything complicated. It's got a bit more of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, it's actually much easier and quicker for many things.)

Anyway, I've removed the pictures from the article, and marked them for deletion. If you have proper source information, add it to the images, and then you can remove the delete tags and add them back to the article. --Falcotron 12:05, June 1, 2010 (UTC)

What do you mean what's it about? I explained what it's about. If that's not enough information, read Help:Uploading files. If you don't have the information on where the image came from and who owns it, it can't be used. --Falcotron 12:09, June 1, 2010 (UTC)
And, while we're at it, The_doctor_playing_footbal.jpg, while it does have a license tag, does not have a source. How many other images have you uploaded without sources? --Falcotron 12:11, June 1, 2010 (UTC)
I'm not sure what "So including images from the trailer" means. Is it a question? You are allowed to include images from the trailer. If you capture a screenshot from the trailer, it's just like capturing a screenshot from anything else the BBC publishes. You have to set the license to BBC screenshot, and fill in the source (like, "grabbed from the series 5 trailer broadcast on BBC1" or "screenshot from the scenes for next week from the iPlayer version of Cold Blood" or whatever). If someone else took the screenshot and you found it online, put the source where you found it.
Really, read the instructions. They tell you exactly what to do. And I'm not going to be able to explain it more clearly than they do. --Falcotron 12:17, June 1, 2010 (UTC)
It doesn't matter what you've heard of. That's the rule.
And it wouldn't matter if it were true "there's loads of users who do that", but in fact it's not true. I picked a bunch of pages at random--the first three were The Eleventh Hour, City of Death, and Bernice Summerfield, which you can check for yourself. But, between them, they contained screenshots, DWM covers, novel covers, CD covers, promo images, and other DWIA pics. Every single one had the proper tags. And, all of the ones but screenshots whose source is obvious also have descriptions. --Falcotron 12:31, June 1, 2010 (UTC)
If you know the source and the license, you don't have to remove it. Just edit it, and fill in the missing information. --Falcotron 12:45, June 1, 2010 (UTC)

Re: The Pandorica Opens

OK, great catch.

But you can't change it to an image that doesn't exist, or you end up with a text redlink at the top of the page instead of a picture. If you've got a good image, put it in. If you don't, and you're sure the current one is from the wrong episode, just take it out entirely. --Falcotron 22:51, June 4, 2010 (UTC)
