Symphony of the Daleks
The Symphony of the Daleks was a piece of orchestral music associated with the New Dalek Paradigm.
In 2010, the Supreme Dalek of the Paradigm interrupted a human concert at the Royal Albert Hall and declared that it was now "time" for the Symphony of the Daleks. It threatened the conductor, Ben Foster, with extermination unless he immediately began conducting the piece. A cowering Foster obeyed, and the orchestra played the instrumental piece while images of the birth of the New Dalek Paradigm played on a large screen. What is termed the Symphony of the Daleks within the in-character skit from the 2010 edition of Doctor Who at the Proms actually originated as part of the incidental score by Murray Gold for the Series 5 episode Victory of the Daleks, where it is used for the scene during which the Eleventh Doctor witnesses the birth of a new race of Daleks.
The notion that incidental music from Dalek scenes in the televised series is in fact actual "Dalek music" also appeared in another skit in the 2008 edition of Doctor Who at the Proms, which featured Davros and the Daleks taking over the Hall, with Davros ordering that "the music of destruction commence".
